The Divine Soldiers: A Legacy of Purpose, Music, and Ministry

The Divine Soldiers were formed in 1998, born out of a calling that was far greater than music. Founded by brothers J-Wal and S.o.L. (Servant of the Lord), the ministry began with a simple but powerful vision: to use hip-hop as a vehicle to reach people with the truth of Jesus Christ.

Raised between Phoenix, Arizona and Akron, Ohio, the brothers were once known for their success on the basketball court, believing their future would be found through athletics. But life took a different turn. Through personal trials, life-changing moments, and a deep realization of how fragile life truly is, God began to redirect their path.

A pivotal moment came after the tragic loss of a close friend—a wake-up call that reshaped their understanding of purpose, eternity, and responsibility. From that point forward, their lives—and their music—would never be the same.

A Calling Bigger Than Music

What started as two brothers stepping out in faith quickly grew into something much greater. The Divine Soldiers became more than artists—they became ministers, mentors, and messengers.

Their music was never about fame. It was about impact.

Their mission was clear:

To reach those lost in a misdirected culture

To challenge, inspire, and transform lives

To bring truth where there was confusion

And to boldly represent Christ without compromise

They didn’t just perform—they stayed after shows, prayed with people, signed every CD, took every picture, and made sure no one left without an opportunity to encounter something real.

Growth, Brotherhood, and Expansion

As the ministry grew, so did the team. What began as two brothers expanded into a full band and movement, incorporating musicians, vocalists, and performers who shared the same heart and mission.

From performing in front of small crowds to reaching audiences of thousands, The Divine Soldiers remained grounded in their purpose—to bring people into a relationship with Christ and help them grow deeper in their faith.

Their music crossed genres—hip-hop, rock, gospel, funk, and more—because their goal was simple:
“Become all things to all people, so that some may be saved.”

Music, Ministry, and Impact

With multiple albums released, including Ain’t No Othas, Equivalent to Water, and Feature Presentation, The Divine Soldiers built a sound that was both powerful and purposeful. Their music gained attention on local, national, and even international platforms, while opening doors to share stages with well-known artists in Christian music.

But their greatest impact was never measured in sales or recognition—it was measured in lives changed.

Hundreds responded to calls for salvation

Thousands were reached through concerts and outreach

Countless testimonies came from across the country and around the world

From small towns in America to international listeners, their message resonated deeply—offering hope, truth, and transformation.

Gratitude and Acknowledgment

The journey of The Divine Soldiers would not have been possible without the people God placed along the way.

We extend our deepest gratitude to:

Timothy Loney – for his belief, leadership, and investment in helping organize, guide, and elevate the ministry during critical moments of growth

John Saucier – for his support, influence, and contribution to sharing the story and mission of The Divine Soldiers

Former band members and contributors – whose talents, dedication, and faith helped shape the sound and spirit of the movement

Supporters, fans, churches, and communities – who opened doors, shared the message, and stood alongside us throughout the journey

Every life touched, every opportunity given, and every moment experienced has been part of something far greater than ourselves.

The Mission Continues

The Divine Soldiers were never just about music—they were about a mission.

A mission to go where others wouldn’t go.
To speak truth where others stayed silent.
To reach hearts that others couldn’t reach.

We believe now, more than ever, that the world is still searching…and that the message is still needed.

We are Soldiers for Christ.
We will not compromise.
We will not retreat.

And we will continue the mission…

Until The Rapture.
